Technos has a story worth telling. Founded in Switzerland in 1924, the brand made its way to Brazil in 1958 and promptly took over — becoming one of the most recognized watch names in Latin America. Production moved to Manaus, Brazil, and by the 1990s the Brazilian operation had acquired the trademark outright. Today Technos belongs to Grupo Technos, one of the largest watch companies in Latin America. Swiss roots, Brazilian soul, still very much alive and running.
Need I say anything else? It’s a Santos.
The square case. The exposed screw bezel. The Roman numeral dial. The integrated bracelet with matching hardware. All of it, present and correct. If you’ve been following the studio for five minutes you already know this design language lives rent-free in my head — the Cartier Santos from 1904 is the blueprint, and Technos ran it through their own filter and landed this. The Orrery. Gold inner bezel ring framing that crisp white dial, blued hands, date window at 3. Architectural. Intentional. Correct.
All the design bang. None of the buyer’s remorse — unless you feel bad about saving money, in which case that’s a you problem.
