Seiko's been at it since 1881 — founded in Tokyo by Kintaro Hattori, and unlike a lot of their contemporaries, they never stopped. Seiko is very much still alive and cooking today, one of the largest watch manufacturers on the planet. From Grand Seiko to dive watches to quartz technology they literally invented for the modern world — the brand has never once sat still. A century-plus deep and still relevant.

What you're looking at is the Silver Wave — a Seiko sub-line from the late 80s/early 90s that leaned hard into design over convention. The case shape on this thing is genuinely rare; that sculpted, almost saucer-like profile sits somewhere between a Swiss dress watch dinner party and a UFO landing — old money vibes crashed into something from another dimension, and it works completely. The exposed screws on the bezel only add to the alien architecture.

And that dial. Perfectly toasted marshmallow — years of sun doing its thing. The warm, creamy patina on this thing is not something you can fake or buy new. That’s decades of character baked in, literally. Somebody out there clearly never met a bottle of SPF 50. Their loss, your gain.
