Bulova was founded in New York City in 1875 by Joseph Bulova — a Czech immigrant who built one of America’s most iconic watch brands from the ground up. Over the next century, Bulova was responsible for some of the most significant moments in watch history: first watch advertised on American radio (1926), first watch advertised on American television (1941), and the watch worn on the moon during Apollo 15. Today Bulova is owned by Citizen Watch Group and is very much still producing watches. The legacy is untouched.
Too much sauce. That’s the problem with this one — there’s just too much of it.
The woven bracelet on this Bulova is what happens when a brand with over a century of craft actually commits to a construction. Wide, dense, and flat against the wrist, the silver herringbone mesh moves like fabric and catches light like jewelry. Not every brand can pull this off — the weave has to be tight enough to drape without bunching, fine enough to read luxurious, and wide enough to make a statement. Bulova nailed all three. Because of course they did.
The tonneau case sits clean at the center — soft rectangular silhouette, minimalist white dial with dot indices and slender hands. The restraint of the dial against the texture of that bracelet is exactly the contrast that makes this work. Nothing competing. Everything landing.
Pure drip. Done correctly.
